Contouring done well can create a look that really accentuates your facial features. Over the last year, contouring has become one of the most popular trends of make up lovers around the globe, thanks to YouTube and Instagram. But it can sometimes seem overwhelming, especially if your everyday life doesn’t require you to have such a heavy dimensional face. So we are going to show you how to create this dimension at home with just 1 product.
When creating an at home highlight/contoured face I LOVE the illuminating powder in color “candlelight” by Laura Mercier. First create a base, covering any blemishes or dark spots with concealer and apply your foundation on top creating a nice even toned complexion. Next, take a small amount of the highlighter and apply it to your eyeshadow brush and dab it on the tear drops of the eye, down the bridge of the nose, on the cheek bones (make sure it’s blended in well at this point), on the Cupid’s bow of the lip, and in the middle of the chin. By doing this, you’ve used your natural skin tone, (whatever shade you might be) as the contour and the illuminating powder as the highlight. This highlighting method can also be achieved with a bronzer as long as it is not heavily glittered. If using a bronzer, be sure to choose one that has a more subtle glowing effect which gives a more natural look to the highlighting/contour method. Follow up with your favorite mascara and lip shade or gloss and your complete!
